Size and colour mismatch
Pieces of the same style made in two sizes or finished in different colours, so sets do not match.
Why it happens
A style made in several batches, or split across workshops, drifts in size and colour unless every batch is held to the same drawing and golden sample.
Sets show it first: nesting tables that do not nest and chairs that do not match.
Sample report 05 (Jodhpur, January 2023) found two size variants and varying colour finish within one nesting-table style; both were counted as major.

How to specify against it
A defect you can name in the purchase order is a defect an inspector can fail the shipment on. One you only describe in an email is not.
- Dimensions with tolerances for every piece of a set.
- A golden sample for colour, held by both sides, and the rule that every batch is matched to it.
- Ask where each batch is made, so splits across workshops are visible.
The inspection point
Each of these is a numbered check on a published scope, so you can see exactly which visit finds this and when.
